Shock loss after a hair transplant: normal and temporary

Shock loss after a hair transplant: normal and temporary

A few weeks after the procedure, many transplanted hairs fall out. This is sometimes scary, but it is a normal part of recovery.

What happens?

The hair shaft falls out, while the hair follicle remains in the skin. The follicle goes into a resting phase and starts a new growth cycle later.

The timeline

Shedding usually happens between week 2 and week 8. New growth often becomes visible from month 3 to 4; around month 9 to 12 the result becomes clearly visible.

Patience and follow-up

Follow the aftercare carefully and compare photos by month instead of by day. If you have questions, you can always contact the clinic via WhatsApp.
